-A letter from the Pastor-
Dear Members and Friends of Christ of the Bay,
I pray that you are all well and keeping perspective as events unfold around the world. Remember God’s words to us through Paul in Philippians 4 4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
I have been discussing with the board and a few of you on what we should do for church services over the next few weeks. We all have heard the news and the calling of quarantine, and not meeting in groups of more than ten. I understand their concern, however, this is why the church is here. To give hope and assurance in the love of God for His people, and to offer comfort to the troubled.
So in light of all this I would like to offer myself on Sunday to anyone who would like to come for a time of prayer and communion. We will meet in a small group in the Sanctuary for a time of about 10 to 15 minutes. This time will include a hymn, prayer, scripture, communion, responsive reading, and blessing.
We will do this first come first served. As you come into the Church parking lot please pull forward under the underpass by the front church doors. Amanda will sign you in and give you a ticket with a time on it. When your time comes up proceed into the church through the front doors (door will be marked enter and exit) into the fellowship hall. Pastor will come and bring you in from there when he is ready for your group. We will begin at 8:00 until 10:00, or as long as it takes to see everyone.
You will be able to come into and exit church without touching any door or other items. We will have the older metal chairs with cushions to sit on which will be wiped down after each group.
Those of you who cannot make it, there are other options online from our neighboring churches.
Hope to see you Sunday.
Blessings Pastor Lewis
